I bought a new server on 29 Feb. 2015

I used a PC as a router/server machine. I bought it 8 years ago. And it didsn’t work well these months. So I’ve bought a new server. The model is HP ProLiant ML310e Gen8 v2.
I heard that it didn’t support UEFI but BIOS. So it cannot boot the big harddrives like 3TB HDDs without RAID as far as I saw on the net. But I found that small bios_grub partition on the head of the storage enable grub2 to boot from such big drives without RAID. So I put 1MB partition on my harddrive. So now I can boot Ubuntu Server 14.04.2 LTS.

Our government didn’t use the world’s tsunami donations for whaling.

It’s a quite old propaganda that our government use tsunami fund for whaling. But Sea Shepherd and other dolphin freaks still lie so repeatingly. And I pasted the refutation to Facebook very many times, too. Seeing Yamamoto San reprinted my refutaion, I decided to post this text on my entry for many people can do that. So free to reprint this text below.(This text is a bit different from my original. I revised some.)

* I updated on 25 Jan. 2015, for adding explanations of the word difference.

See the audit reports of Japan Red Cross: http://jrc.or.jp/eq-japan2011/
The most of the donations from overseas are made through Red Cross. Those donations are called Tsunami Relief Fund(津波義援金, Tsunami Gienkin). It’s not our government’s Restoration Fund(復興基金, Fukkou Kikin) from our tax. (As you can see, Tsunami Gienkin and Fukkou Kikin are completely different words.)
Read this and understand it!:
The URI below is about the 311 earthquake published on 16 Dec. 2011. It’s on the official website of Minshutou, Democratic Party in Japan. It was the ruling party till late Dec. 2012.
> 福島の地域経済再生に向けては、県からの要望を踏まえ、第3次補正予算において復興基金の造成など総額約5340億円を措置し、医療や再生可能エネルギーといった新たな産業・雇用の創出や企業立地に向けた取り組みなどを図ることとしています。さらには、福島県が置かれている特殊な事情に鑑み、その対策を講じるための特別立法が必要と考えており、次期通常国会に法案を提出できるよう検討を進めています。
Translation: For the purpose of the regional economical restoration of Fukushima, with considering the prefecture’s request, on the 3rd revised budget, we take steps by PREPARATION OF THE RESTORATION FUND and so on with 534 billion yen in total. With that, we attempt medical services, new inductries like renewable energy, job creation, industrial loction, and so on. In addition, considering the special situation placed in Fukushima Prefecture, we think that we need special legistrations and we consider them to present the draft bills in the next ordinary sessin of the parliament.

So Yoree Koh of Wall Street Journal wrote this:
>But this year, onlookers are not only taking issue with the whaling expedition itself, but how extra government funding for the trip is being drawn from money intended to be used for reconstruction efforts from the March 11 disasters. The funds are from Japan’s own national budget, not charitable donations from overseas.

If you want to cause that our government uses the tsunami fund of Red Cross and so on with the donation from overseas, prove it!

I upgraded Linux Mint 17 to 17.1 on 4 Dec. 2014

I successfully upgraded Linux Mint from 17 to 17.1 yesterday by How to upgrade from Linux Mint 17 to 17.1
It says:
>As excited as we are about 17.1, upgrading blindly for the sake of running the latest version does not make much sense, especially if you’re already happy with 17 and everything is working perfectly.
But I haven’t found any problems about Linux Mint 17… I wanted to examine 17.1.
Well, it’s good to do that as a member of Linux Mint Japan Members although I’m actually a lazy member.

I installed an IRC server on my home server on 27 Sept. 2014

I installed InspIRCd, an IRC server and anope, an IRC service daemon on 27 Sept.2014. I wish that there was a Japanese conservative IRC network free from anti-Japanese leftists’ oppression about political issues including historical recognitions, whaling, and so on in trend of the world’s IRC network technology. So with that installations, I founded SakuraDoori, a personal IRC network with only one server. The server name is irc.emmanuelc.dix.asia and its port is +6697 (SSL).
Probably, only a few people come. But I felt like doing that by seeing irc.juggler.jp, the most popular server of IRC@2ch(2ch.net / 2ch.sc), the most popular Japanese IRC network got independent because of 2ch’s trouble.

I added Part 242(actually part 243) to my archive of Rather Shinkansen than TGV on 1 Sept.

The threads named “Rather Shinkansen than TGV” are a series of 2ch‘s Korea Forum, about railway technology and so on since Korea imports TGV. I don’t notify on my blogs but I update “TGVより新幹線 & 台湾新幹線 過去ログ“, my archive of that series when the new thread took over. (◆WHhh4nwOyo, another person maintain another website named 「TGVより新幹線 ☆」アーカイブ ~KTXうぉっちんぐ.)
I learned how excellent Shinkansen is by seeing mod-5’s archive. Now there’s the official 50th aniversary website of Tokaido Shinkansen(Facebook) and I’m also in festive wood.
By the way, now part 241 of the series is dublicated and part 242 is actually part 243. But the current 244th thread’s number is named Part 243, not fixed. Maybe, I will put the dublicated log pages named “part 241”.
And I’m thinking of changing Image-Uploadable Reserve Webboard from the current to another software. (Use it when you cannot post comments on this blog or so.)

I added some links of OPACs and so on to my links page yesterday.

Des Liens de Emmanuel Chanel is my links page. It’s one of my oldest web pages.

The forum sites for 2ch cluster

  1. 2ch.sc(I added it to the exlanation of 2ch.)
Hiroyuki, the founder of 2ch has been kicked out for 6 months and founded 2ch.sc instead. Since 2ch is one of the biggest Japanese forum site, everyone Japanese knows that event.
  2. open 2ch is an alternative website of 2ch, founded by satoru, a web creator. All the posting on its forums are licensed under public domain. Many people of 2ch moved to it since 2ch has forbidden them to copy the posts on some of its forums, by changing their forum rule. I got to know in same period as 2ch.sc founded. But I haven’t add the link on the links page.

Open Public Access Catalogs

  1. National Diet Library
It has National Diet Library Online Public Access Catalog and NDL Search, an OPAC of libraries in Japan.
  2. Books.or.jp [Search Books]
The search engine of Japan Book Publishers Association.
  3. Japanese Dealers in Old Books
The web shop of Japanese Association of Dealers in Old Books and of Tokyo Association of Dealers in Old Book.
  4. Bibliophil Home Page
A personal website of a bibliophil. It has links pages including
    Old Books Information General Links.
  5. National Institute for Informatics
It has CiNii Articles, a search engine for Japanese scientific articles and essays and CiNii Books, one for university libraries.

I installed Linux Mint 17 Qiana MATE 64bit after two 8GB memories on 5 Jun, 2014

I installed two 8GB memories as the addition to the 8GB memory since I use the desktop PC heavily. I use Linux Mint that doesn’t require so much memory, though. After that, I installed Linux Mint 17 Qiana MATE 64bit. It got quite faster with 24GB memory. But its CPU cooler is gone. So I couldn’t post this entry till now. (Now I’ve installed a new cooler. And the situation looks stable.)
When I installed Linux Mint 16, about its ibus, I said:

At first, like switching off ibus, I did ibus to alphanumeric mode with the key of switching input software. (the default key is [Super] + ) but looks that it’s set for us to use [全角/半角](Zenkaku_Hankaku) key. But as he points, ibus doesn’t show the status whether alphanumeric or Kanji.

But on the ibus of Linux Mint 17, I can see that status on the cursol when I push [全角/半角](Zenkaku_Hankaku) key.

Sea Mammals lies about morbillivirus

Sea Mammals(aka Albi Deak Facebook as Sea Mammals/Facebook as Albi Deak/website Updated at 03:38 on 26 May. 2014 UTC) is another who posts some anti-whaling comments on Prime Minister’s Office of Japan. This discussion is originally with Toru Seo and Yamamoto San on an entry on 18 Apr. 2014. Now you cannot see without logged-in. But I captured the comments on 27 Apr. 2014 and the images are on my server: FTP/HTTP.

Sea Mammals says “it is amusing to think like non-scientists in short term…” and “Eat whales and dolphins at risk to a morbillivirus epidemic. I wish you much fun with whale meat. But does not say we searchers and biologists did not warn .“. It makes he look a biologist or so. But this quoted part is a lie, against his source saying “To date, there are no reported cases of human infection with cetacean morbillivirus. Morbillviruses do not tend to infect hosts that are not closely related“. If not a lie, he would completely misunderstand what morbilliviruses are.
