After I make /home an ext4 file system I installed Fedora 12.

Liberal Democratic Party Lost, Democratic Party of Japan Won, and Japan Sink. (The election on 30 Aug, 2009.)
I posted this entry late since I got very melancholic about that.
We had a snap election of the House of Representatives. On 2ch and the opinions web, we support Prime Minister Taro Aso and the Liberal Democratic Party (conservative), since Democratic Party of Japan (leftists and pro-Marxist for China, North Korea, and South Korea, the three anti-Japanese countries.) doesn’t concern our security or our economy. Although LDP holds some liberal powerful politicians, DPJ has much more. But DPJ won clear majority since major media deviate pro-DPJ.

I installed Fedora 11 x86_64 few days ago.
I wanted to enable ReiserFS on the installation but I couldn’t.
First of all, I hadn’t known even how I can see the “boot:” prompt till one answered me “hit escape” on #fedora @ FreeNode.
After hitting ESC key, I saw “boot:” prompt. And I typed “linux selinux=0 reiserfs”. But it doesn’t work. I don’t know why. It would be a bug or so. I need reiserfs since the /home partion is on ReiserFS. So after the usual installation, I installed reiserfs-utils and disable selinux.
Oops… For writing that, seeing the kernel package, I can use reiserfs first of all… Just I hadn’t had reiserfs-utils. But anaconda (the installer of Linux) doesn’t show that I can select ReiserFS.
The limitation of the memory size is 4 GB @ Intel HDA driver of alsa
It seems solved. It will be fixed soon.
[Addition on 22:45]
* Mr. Daniel Koukola says that I mistook the prblem. It’s a bug of amd/ati sb600.
I had a problem that Realtek ALC889A Audio Codec (ATI azalia) isn’t detected on alsa-driver of Fedora 10 x86_64. Detail info is alsa doesn’t recognize onboard sound on GA-MA69H-S3H (On Fedora‘s bugzilla. Originally, I posted.)
[root@star1 ~]# cat /proc/version
Linux version 2.6.27.19-170.2.35.fc10.x86_64 (mockbuild@xenbuilder2.fedora.redhat.com) (gcc version 4.3.2 20081105 (Red Hat 4.3.2-7) (GCC) ) #1 SMP Mon Feb 23 13:00:23 EST 2009
[root@star1 ~]# lspci |grep -i “multi|audio|040[0-3]”
00:14.2 Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA)
lspci shows the sound card detected. But alsa‘s driver snd_hda_intel doesn’t work but output error messages on /var/log/dmesg and on /var/log/messages . On Fedora 10 on my old HDD, this problem didn’t occur. It occured after I installed Fedora 10 on a new 1TB HDD with 6GB memory (with two new 2GB memories) 9 Mar, 2009. So I had even a clean installation again from the installation DVD. But that problem didn’t extinguish. Yeah… the memory is too big for the sound driver. I couldn’t find it by panic then.
So I posted the report: “alsa doesn’t recognize onboard sound on GA-MA69H-S3H”. to Fedora 10‘s bugzilla. Mr. Jaroslav Kysela says that I can compile alsa’s latest snapshot. I tried both the snapshot and the latest stable alsa-driver but failed.
Wanting advices on chat, I joined #alsa @ FreeNode, the IRC channel of alsa. on 13 Mar. And on 14 Mar. I subscribed alsa-user and alsa-devel that I posted this problem two mailing lists. And on the channel, I got a good helper: Mr. Daniel Koukola. He spared all his evening and night time (About 14 hours!) for helping me. By his indication, I modified some of the source for debug, tried loading the modified driver, and sent him the records on /var/log/dmesg and /var/log/messages . And he got the answer that the Intel HDA driver fails when the Response Inbound Ring Buffer is placed at a physical address greater than 4 GB, on memory. I thank him a lot. It was too a bad problem but I thank him very, very, much!
This is the modified part from the source. I installed it, reading INSTALL . [emmanuel@star1 hda]$ pwd /home/emmanuel/Softwares/alsa-driver-1.0.19/alsa-kernel/pci/hda
[emmanuel@star1 hda]$ diff hda_intel.c{0,}

About the addition on 22:45
Thingol Emmanuel_Chanel, hello again 🙂 this is not intel hda driver limitation. it looks like a bug in your southbridge (amd/ati sb600), it says it support 64-bit dma (gcap bit 1 is set), but apparently it doesn’t (at least not for the RIRB).
Emmanuel_Chanel Oh… What a bad news!
* Silkjc has quit (Remote closed the connection)
Thingol Emmanuel_Chanel, why? the workaround is easy… disable 64-bit dma for sb600. 🙂
Emmanuel_Chanel Oh… ok.
Thingol Emmanuel_Chanel, that’s what those two lines (pci_set_dma_mask/pci_set_consistent_dma_mask) do.. disable 64-bit dma. it only needs to be modified so it’s disabled only for sb600 (not for all hda controllers).
Emmanuel_Chanel Oh… ok.
Thingol Oh.. http://www.mail-archive.com/linux-ide@vger.kernel.org/msg06694.html ..seems like sb600 ahci (hdd) controller is broken in the same way. 🙂
Emmanuel_Chanel That bug can disable me to use 2TB SATA HDD or so, too?
Emmanuel_Chanel Thingol: Can I export your comments for my entry?
(Omitted)
Thingol Emmanuel_Chanel, yeah.. but my English is not good. 🙂
反日ワクチン (Hannichi Wakuchin, Vaccine to Anti-Japan) and its last entries about F Kikan and India
反日ワクチン (Hannichi Wakuchin, Vaccine to Anti-Japan) is a blog refuting anti-Japanese views by quoting books of people living in the argued periods. Valuable to see it although it’s not updated from the last entry on 29 Jul. 2008, with announcing that it stopped in the summer. It’s a blog but its content can be a stable website since it’s not basically a diary. I’ve alreday known it for a long time but I didn’t link it to my links page for a long time. Now I added.
The last entries are quotes of F機関—インド独立に賭けた大本営参謀の記録 (F Kikan-Indo Dokuritsu ni Kaketa Daihon’ei Sambou no Kiroku , “F Kikan – The Record of a Staff of Imperial Genearl Headquarters, Mortgaging for Indian Independence”, maybe, the English version is this link.) by Lt.-Gen. Iwaichi Fujiwara, lieutenant general of Japan Ground Self Defence Force and former lieutenant colonel of Imperial Japanese Army. He turned around the world in WW II as the learder of F Kikan. His organ persuaded Indian soldiers of British Indian Army to support Japan and Indian independence, as Indian National Army. Those operations feared Britain so much that its Director of Criminal Investigation of Malaya or so on said “Your operations are really glorious success.” or so on to Fujirawa, himself after the war. (I haven’t read the English source directly. So I cannot tell the exact phrase.) Although we got defeated both at the Imphal Campaign and at the war itself, Britain lost British Indian Army after the war. Indian National Congress (Mahatoma Gandhi’s ruling party of India after the independence.) supported INA soldiers after the war, with saying that Indian people have right of resistance against the Empress of India (= Queen of Britain). Indian people resisted for INA soldiers. And two years after the war, India got independence.
In Japan, some say that we didn’t fight against India because we always recognize that British Indian Army is army of Britain. Technically, it would be wrong that we didn’t fight against India but it’s natural to feel that. In addition, we, Japanese conservatives know Indian National Army. Nobody hide that India can be called a player of UN but that fact doesn’t appear much. You can say that India fought for United Nations but also that Indians were the biggest ally of Japan
円達也の政治ブログ (Tatsuaya Madoka’s Political Blog)
Tatsuya Madoka is a friend of mine as JIDOHOSHU on 2ch@IRC . He has meetings on #日本大好き (“We like Japan” in iso-2022-jp encoding, of the Japanese standard for IRC). He advertises that channel everywhere. So he could collect many members. I have a channel: #政治討論 (Political Debates) but few visit and we seldom have meetings there. He operates his channel for how to have Japan attracted among young Japanese people.
* In Japan, 2ch@IRC is the most famous since 2ch is the biggest Japanese forum site. Another most famous is IRCnet since you cannot find few documents about other IRC networks. I always recommend xchat2 since you can recognize that there are many IRC networks in the world. xchat2 is a UNIX client but you can get also the Windows version.
I watch 007 Quantum of Solace
It’s the sequel of 007 Casino Royale, the former work of the 007 movie series by EON Productions.
When the screenplay is started, I wondered if I entered a wrong room since the start scene isn’t the gun shooting scene on the head of the movies before Casino Royale. I found the room correct when I see the car chase by Daniel Craig. The gun shooting scene is brought to the end, instead of the bed scene with the Bond girl that is not shown on that movie. I felt that the series is renewed with going back the typical. And Jewish names like Greene and White of some enemies were appearing, too.
On the original novel of Casino Royale, Vesper’s lover is a pilot of British Air Force but on the movie, he’s French and refferred also on Quantom of Solace. On the renewed part from Casino Royale, the theme of 007 will be the fight against Quantom, the criminal organization permeating also MI6, CIA, and so on, being continued to the next movie.
Emmanuel Chanel 日記 (Emmanuel Chanel’s Diary) started but…
Nobody or few will read it?
After I try installing WordPress 2.7 the Japanese version and makiing that share the users with this blog, since it seems difficult to delete the Japanese version, I made it my Japanese blog in public. That is Emmanuel Chanel 日記 (Emmanuel Chanel Nikki , Emmanuel Chanel’s Diary).
I’ll write entries when I want to do that in Japanese. Probably, I won’t post them every day.
I try registering Google Adsense and I find that I cannot change the size of the unit seen right below.
You would see the advertisement on the right side below now. I know that affiliate programs don’t earn me much. But I want even a little possibility of getting little money. I don’t see many access this website. So I can’t expect much money. I found unfavorable point.
On Google Adsence (at least the Japanese version), for making the unit on the right below, I register the unit on my account on that site. And I cannot change the size of the unit on its setting page. Someone on ディスカッション > トラブルシューティング > adsense unit (Discussion > Trouble Shooting > adsense unit) has already written that. And I dislike it as well as he does.
Suspect X’s Devotion (Yougisha X no Kenshin, 容疑者 X の献身)
I watched Suspect X’s Devotion (Yougisha X no Kenshin, 容疑者 X の献身), a movie of mystery. It’s based on the novel with that title by Keigo Higashino (東野圭吾). Manabu Yukawa (湯川学), the hero of that movie is an associate of physics in Teito University (Teito Daigaku, 帝都大学) and he solves many occultic cases by scientific analysis, by a police detective’s questions. The series of cases is called Tantei Galileo (Detective Galileo, 探偵ガリレオ) on novels and Galileo (ガリレオ) on TV.(The movie is shown as a sequel of the drama version.) Galileo is the nickname of the hero.
On the whole series, the actors of the cases are shown in trailors and in first of each episodes. The points of mysteries are how the phenomenons happnen or what are the tricks. Not usual as mysteries, thoese cases are with more or less too advanced science and technology for usual people. So psysicians can solve the problems in story. That’s the concept of the series. (On the drama verison, the hero lists many formulas when he solved the mysteries but it doesn’t make sense for solving the problems.) On that movies, we know who are the actors, too. The problem is what the trick is, too. I couldn’t find the answer till the end.
